Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before you begin.

Questions about therapy, the process, and financial policy.

How do I access sessions and client forms?

All therapy sessions and client forms are accessed through the secure SimplePractice Client Portal, a HIPAA-compliant platform designed to protect your privacy.

How can therapy help me?

Therapy provides a structured, confidential place to understand what is happening, strengthen coping, and make changes that support your goals. The pace and focus are tailored to you.

Do I really need therapy if I usually handle my problems?

Many people who seek therapy are capable and accustomed to working through difficult things independently. Therapy can still be useful when stress, unresolved experiences, or familiar patterns continue to have an impact.

Why do people go to therapy, and how do I know if it is right for me?

People seek therapy for many reasons, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship patterns, addiction recovery, and workplace stress. A complimentary consultation is a practical way to ask questions and decide whether the approach feels like a fit.

What is therapy like?

Sessions are collaborative and structured around your needs. Brenda begins by understanding what brings you in, what you want to change, and the support that will help you feel stable enough to do the work.

What about medication versus psychotherapy?

Medication and psychotherapy can each be helpful depending on the situation. Brenda can discuss how therapy fits into your care and, when appropriate, encourage you to consult a qualified medical provider about medication questions.

What is your financial policy?

Sessions are private pay and telehealth only. A 50-minute individual session is $105, and extended trauma-focused sessions are $155. The practice does not accept insurance.
